Hi, I’m Ms. Alexander — and yes, theatre is my favorite place to be! I earned my BFA in Musical Theatre (with a minor in Education) from Abilene Christian University and have taught theatre to students from 6th–12th grade.
When I’m not directing or teaching, I’m performing all around Austin — you might catch me onstage at local theatres bringing characters to life. I love sharing what I learn as an actress with my students so they can see how the skills we practice in class work in the real world.
My mission is simple: make theatre class a place where we can take risks, laugh a lot, and create something amazing together. Whether you love acting, building sets, or running the lights, there’s a spot for you in our theatre family.
Fun fact: I love hats, purple is my favorite color (can you tell?), and I believe there’s always room for a little bit of sparkle onstage. ✨
I have been teaching Theatre since 2016, and at Lamar since 2017.
I studied Theatre at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas, and the Stella Adler Studio through NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and with a Master’s in History from Texas State.
Started acting when I was 6 and being onstage instantly became the thing I wanted to do. I can still be found onstage in plays and fronting bands in the Austin Theatre and Music scene. I bring that real world experience, expertise, and those connections to the Arts into the classroom.
And while Theatre is something I take seriously, in and out of the classroom, I want to cultivate the curiosity and enjoyment of the creative process in all aspects of theatre, onstage, and off.
Greetings y’all! It’s me, Mr. Justice!
I am so excited for this year, my 3rd year as your Tech Theatre Director!
I have been working in the world of live productions for as long as I can remember.
First with my parents: Until I was 5, both of my parents sang original children’s music, my dad did magic, I took care of the doves and rabbits, we travelled the entire US in a “motor-home,” (this is all true).
I went through a vocational Radio Television & Film program all four years of high school. (Harlingen, TX)
In college I became the first student to receive the role of Auditorium Manager, where I ran productions for nationally touring symphonies, rock concerts, musicals, and much more from 2006 - 2010. (Herrick Auditorium 2,000 seat)
I graduated from SNU in Oklahoma City, OK with a Bachelor’s of Music Business (Audio Engineering + Business + Performance) and a Minor Emphasis in Philosophy.
In 2011 I moved to Austin to peruse a career in live music / live sound + recording, and started working at Lamar shortly after.
When I’m not with my three kids at home or working with my 170 school-kids on campus, Mr. Justice enjoys nature trail hikes & long-boarding, collecting Pokémon cards with my 6 year old, and getting the privilege to play Jazz, Latin, Bluegrass, & Afro-Reggae around ATX a few times each month.
